Sven works internationally designing projections and video imagery. Five years of professional experience  lighting movies, commercials and music videos in Germany and the study of Theatrical Lighting Design in London have led Sven to develop a keen interest in digital technologies and their potential for the stage. In 2001 he joined Dick Straker and Mesmer.

In the last seven years Sven has created a wide range of photographic, projection and video work for a variety of the most established and celebrated directors including Michael Blakemore, Matthias Hartman, Jonathan Kent, Robert Lepage, Simon McBurney, Trevor Nunn, Deborah Warner, David Leveaux and Francesca Zambello. Together with Dick Straker he established a video department at the National Theatre and introduced technologies and techniques that have become standard today.

Recent projects include "Deuce" directed by Michael Blakemore on Broadway, Complicite’s “A Disappearing Number” directed by Simon Mcburney and Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” on Broadway, directed by Francesca Zambello.

Current and future projects include "Marguerite" in the West End, "Swan Lake" for San Francisco Ballet and "The Damnation of Faust" for Lyric Opera, Chicago
