MICroscope by Riz MC, aka Riz Ahmed, brings his album to Sadlers Wells Svapnagata Festival and on tour throughout 2010. A theatrical music gig, in promenade, with projection and live camera effects by Finn Ross and Ian William Galloway
We worked with Farrah Drabu at DNR films and camera man Tom Swindell to fuse both the liveness of theatre and music gigs together into an immersive experience for the audience, using specially comissioned films and multiple layers of live cameras and live camera effects to distort perceptions of reality and space.
At Sadlers, Catalyst was the system of choice distributing MIDI Time Code to both sound and lighting to keep everything neatly to the beat, with Chamsys MagicQ 200 running nearly the whole show.
For the tour, we dispensed with timecode and the Chamsys for simplicity, and a single 8-layer Catalyst system controlled visuals, live camera effects, playback of the backing tracks and all audio elements of the sound design.
