  • The Gate Theatre, London, 2014
  • The Royal and Derngate, Northampton, 2014

The Body of an American traces the personal and wider influence of a photograph and its photographer. The circumstance and choices, the emotional and psychological cost and the resulting fascination that the playwright Dan O’Brien had in researching the life of Paul Watson. As characters they are trapped on the stage between two screens that create the Pulitzer winning photograph and the locations tracking this investigation into the capturing of a traumatic moment that had both personal and international consequences.
